5th Rape in 10 Days in Odisha: Woman Gang‑Raped While Returning from Temple

Over the course of ten days, five distinct rape instances have been reported throughout Odisha. The most recent incidence happened in the Mayurbhanj district’s Karanjai region. Police claim that on June 25, a young woman was gang-raped on her way home from a nearby temple. Three males reportedly stopped her, led her to a neighboring forest, and then attacked her, according to preliminary accounts.

One suspect, Bikash Patra from Malarpada village, has been taken into custody by police, while two others are being sought.
