NEW DELHI: On July 26, a senior army officer brutally attacked four SpiceJet workers at Srinagar airport while they were being checked out before the SG-386 flight was scheduled to depart for Delhi.
The airline has prohibited the officer from flying on its flights and filed a formal complaint against him. After being admitted to the hospital, three employees are currently recuperating from their injuries.
The event occurred at the Srinagar to Delhi boarding gate on flight SG-386. The army officer is allegedly listed as Ritesh Kumar Singh on the flight ticket.
The Army officer, the passenger, was carrying two pieces of cabin baggage totaling 16 kilograms, which was more than twice the allowed weight of 7 kg, according to Spicejet. The passenger blatantly violated aviation security procedures by forcing their way into the aerobridge without finishing the boarding process after being courteously notified of the extra luggage and asked to pay the associated fees. A CISF official brought him back to the gate.
