NEW DELHI — Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled by Delhi Metro to reach the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), where he attended the institution’s centenary celebrations.

Carrying a metro smart card, PM Modi boarded the train and travelled alongside regular commuters. During the journey through North Delhi, he interacted with passengers, including students and children, engaging in informal conversations about education, career aspirations, technology, and their future goals.

Photos and videos from the journey quickly gained traction on social media, with several moments from the Prime Minister’s interaction with commuters being widely shared.

The visit took place on National Teachers’ Day and marked 100 years since SRCC was established in 1926. As part of the centenary celebrations, PM Modi unveiled a special ₹100 commemorative coin honouring the college’s longstanding contribution to commerce, economics, education, and leadership in India.

The visit also marked PM Modi’s return to the SRCC campus after 13 years. He had previously addressed students at the college in 2013, when he was serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

His metro journey added another public-transport interaction to his engagements with young citizens, offering commuters an opportunity to interact directly with the Prime Minister during his journey to the educational institution.
