CBI Arrests Shivraj Motegaonkar in NEET UG Leak Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, founder of Renukai Chemistry Classes (RCC), in connection with the alleged leak of the NEET UG question paper. RCC operates nine branches, including its main centre in Latur, Maharashtra.

Officials told the Press Trust of India that Motegaonkar was taken into custody Sunday evening after CBI teams recovered a leaked copy of the May 3 examination paper from his mobile phone during searches at his premises. The agency’s grounds for arrest state that Motegaonkar was an “active member of the organised gang” accused of leaking and circulating the NEET UG paper. The CBI alleges he received the question paper and its answers on April 23—about ten days before the exam was conducted nationwide and overseas—as part of a conspiracy with others.
