A domestic dispute in Odisha’s Bolangir district turned fatal after a man died following an alleged assault by his wife with a mobile phone.

According to preliminary reports, the couple got into an argument at their home on Saturday. During the altercation, the wife allegedly struck her husband on the head with a mobile phone, leaving him seriously injured.

The victim was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Bolangir, where he received medical treatment. After doctors observed an improvement in his condition, he was discharged and returned home.

However, shortly after reaching home, his condition suddenly worsened. Family members immediately took him back to the hospital, where doctors attempted to save his life but later declared him dead.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact sequence of events and the cause of death. Authorities are awaiting the post-mortem report, which is expected to provide more clarity on the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The case has shocked local residents and highlighted the tragic consequences that domestic disputes can sometimes have. Police said further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
