Two gelatin sticks were recovered near Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s event venue on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday, triggering a major security scare ahead of his visit. The explosives were discovered during routine security checks near Kagalipura, around 3 kilometres from the main venue where the Prime Minister was scheduled to attend a programme at the Art of Living International Centre.
Following the discovery, police and security agencies immediately sealed the area, while bomb disposal squads and forensic experts were rushed to the spot for investigation. Authorities detained a suspect in connection with the case and began intensive questioning to determine how the gelatin sticks reached the area and whether there was any larger conspiracy involved.
Despite the security concerns, PM Modi attended the event and addressed a gathering at the Art of Living International Centre. During his speech, he praised the organisation’s contribution to spirituality, social welfare, environmental conservation, and youth empowerment. Officials are continuing their investigation and have not yet confirmed whether the explosives were linked to quarrying activities or intentionally planted near the venue.
