Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the main opposition Congress today, saying that the people are his masters and “remote control” and that he communicates his suffering to them. The Prime Minister declared that he is a follower of Lord Shiva and will “swallow the poison” of insults amid the intense controversy surrounding the verbal abuse directed at him and his late mother, Heeraben Modi. 

“I am aware that the entire Congress community would criticize me and claim that Modi is sobbing once more. My God is the people; where else will I be able to communicate my suffering if not in front of them? They are my remote control, my gods, and my masters. After launching a number of projects, he addressed a crowd in Darang, Assam, “I don’t have any other remote control.” 

During a recent political campaign in poll-bound Bihar, the Prime Minister has been attacking the Congress for verbally abusing an RJD-Congress stage. The opposition party has emphasized that when the comments were uttered, none of its leaders were present on stage. The Prime Minister’s mother was then included in an AI-generated video produced by Congress, which sparked a controversy. 

The reference to the remote control is important. The phrase has previously been used by Prime Minister Modi to charge former UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi with dominating former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Additionally, he has claimed that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is under the Gandhis’ remote control, a claim that Congress has always denied. 

Following the Center’s decision to award the Bharat Ratna to the late Bhupen Hazarika, a great Assamese singer, the Prime Minister claimed that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had shown him a comment made by Mr. Kharge. 

The Congress president claimed that Modi was awarding the Bharat Ratna to “singers and dancers” on the day the Indian government honored Bhupen Hazarika, the nation’s great son and pride of Assam. 

In 2019, Mr. Kharge, who was not the head of the Congress at the time, caused a stir when he told Bhupen Hazarika about the Bharat Ratna. Later on, he had provided an explanation. One of the most talented artists in our nation, Dr. Hazarika has outstanding skills in poetry, music, film, and literature. He had claimed that his efforts had introduced the world to Assamese art and culture. 

Jawaharlal Nehru was cited by the prime minister, who claimed that the “wounds of the people of North East had not healed” during the 1962 India-China conflict. “The current generation of Congress is sprinkling salt on those wounds.” 

Congress ruled Assam for decades, but in 60–65 years, it built just three bridges across the Brahmaputra River. On the other hand, we constructed six new bridges in a single decade when you gave us the chance. It makes sense that you would value our work and provide us your blessing,” he remarked.

The Prime Minister mentioned Operation Sindoor when he claimed that during its tenure, the Congress used to remain silent when acts of terror occurred. “The people of Congress support the Pakistani army as our forces carry out Operation Sindoor, driving out terrorists from all around Pakistan. They push their agendas. The Congress uses Pakistan’s lies to further its objectives. Therefore, Congress should always be avoided,” the prime minister stated.

The Prime Minister blamed the Congress’s “biggest focus is vote bank” and “never cares about the country” for the major problem of infiltration in Assam. “The Congress has now turned into a shield for infiltrators and anti-nationals. He claimed that the Congress, which had supported infiltration when it was in power, now wants infiltrators to remain in the nation permanently and shape India’s destiny.
